A yellow color with silver highlights, a nose of white-fleshed fruit and citrus zest.
On the palate, it's full-bodied on the attack, then crisp, leaving a broad, gourmet palette of aromas on the finish.
Riesling d'Alsace is a gastronomic wine par excellence, beyond its natural pairings with Alsatian cuisine (such as sauerkraut or smoked pork shoulder...).
It is also excellent with fish, crustaceans and shellfish (such as scallops and oysters). It gracefully underscores the iodized flavors of seafood.
The Mandelberg or “almond hill” is located immediately to the north of Mittelwihr.
he soils are derived from the conglomeratic Oligocene geological stratum adjacent to the Rhine fault. They are brown limestone soils containing a high percentage of rolled pebbles and angular pebbles. This makes them ideal for deep root penetration.
On Mandelberg, the well-balanced Rieslings are full-bodied without being overpowering. They are rich in harmony.
